Brendes was born on December 17, 1934 in Ukraine. In 1956 he graduated from the Kuibyshev Industrial Institute, majored in oil and gas processing technology.

He has dedicated his life to the refining, starting his career path from being the operator of technological installations to the plant manager. The new unique enterprise – Pavlodar Oil Refinery (POR) was established thanks to Brendes.

On May 14, 1971 he was appointed as the director of the POR as it was being built. In 1971-1978 Brendes was responsible for the construction of a new enterprise. On September 2, 1978 he became the first director of the POR, which came into operation along with other refineries in the country, he headed it until 1981.

The first phase of the plant - the complex of primary oil processing LK-6U with refining capacity of 6 million tonnes per year, as well as the installation of sulfur production were launched under his management in 1978. A year later, the production of sulfur and bitumen were also launched.

Qualified experts were invited to the company with his assistance. He formed the engineering corps, and together with Chief Engineer Beloussov, has created a unique professional team of the Pavlodar oil workers.

After his career at the POR he continued working in the State Planning Committee of the Kazakh SSR and was responsible for oil refining industry. For his merits he was awarded the government award - the medal ‘For Valiant Labor. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Lenin’s birth.’ Also for his contribution to the development of oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan he was awarded the medal of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Munai Gas Keshenіn damytuga koskan ulesi ushin No. 001.

Shukhrat Danbai, director general of Pavlodar Oil and Chemistry Refinery LLP (POCR)

Danbai was Born in 1963 in the city of Kentau in the South Kazakhstan region. He graduated from the University Kainar (Almaty), specializing in International Economic Relations, International Academy of Business, PhD, Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).

In his career he has headed large commercial structures for the supply and refining, wholesale and retail sales. In 2003-2006 he was the POCR’s Deputy Director General for Economics and Finance. In 2006-2008, occupied the post of the Executive Director of the Petrochemical and Oil Refining Unit at the national company KazMunaiGas JSC. Since September 2009 he has been the Director General of the POCR.

Shukhrat Danbai is an experienced and responsible manager. A stable operation of the company and an increase of the volume of oil refining and petroleum products were implemented udner his management. Since 2009, the POCR has been successfully fulfilling the production program for the processing of raw materials and production output.

The realization of the large-scale project “Modernization of the Pavlodar Oil and Chemistry Refinery” was also a part of his tenure. He is a part of work on the reconstruction of the existing equipment and the construction of new facilities that will make it possible next year to produce motor fuels, according to the environmental class K4.

Danbai is also involved in broad social activities: he is the President of the NGO Boxing Federation of the Pavlodar region and the hockey team Yertys, member of the Political Bureau of the Pavlodar regional branch of People’s Democratic Party Nur Otan, deputy of the Pavlodar regional maslikhat of the V-VI convocation, honorary head of the department of chemistry and chemical engineering of the Pavlodar state University named after S. Toraigyrov and member of the international and national conferences, seminars, symposia on the development of petrochemical and oil-refining industry.

He was awarded the Order Kurmet, medals of KAZENERGY, For merits in the patriotic education of youth, commemorative medals Kazakstan Respublikasynin tauelsyzdigine 20 zhyl, 75 years of Pavlodar region, 35 years of the factory, a medal for Services to the region. He was awarded the title Honorary Citizen of the city of Pavlodar.
