On December 16 this year Inna Yashkina will celebrate her 25th anniversary of working in a laboratory of reagents and gases at the Atyrau Oil Refinery (AOR).

Exactly on this historic day Yashkina started her career. She is a graduate of the former Guryev Polytechnic institution and has a degree of the operator of oil and gas production. She has heard a lot about the work in the laboratory firsthand as her mother Martha Yashkina had worked in the same place for 47 years.

“I was hired as a laboratory worker of third category in the gas department, which was then entered into the control lab. Mariya Sladkova was the chief, and then Elena Kapuova after her,” Yashkina said.

“At first it was, of course, difficult. I think that every person goes through difficulties, until he or she gains enough experience. I am very grateful to my mentors Zaripa Ayzhigitova, Yevgenia Kabankina, Elena Kulikova and Svetlana Bisalieva who shared their knowledge, gave advice. It is worth noting that employees of the laboratory always were ready to aid.”

Yashkina was talking about her career path and life in general while carrying out work.

“At the moment I am determining the trace amounts of CO and CO2 in hydrogen and light gaseous hydrocarbons on the gas chromatograph. Any laboratory worker needs to have good knowledge, skill and accuracy. Because in the end we deal with final production of quality products. And the role of the laboratory in this single link of processed products is very important. Today, our work is much easier, when I started there were only two chromatographs. Many things were done manually. And today, here look: there is a whole series of chromatographs, virtually the entire process is computerized.”

All these 25 years Yashkina has been working in the laboratory of reagents and gas, today she is a 5th category technician. She is well-respected and valued as a good specialist in her team. Yashkina is constantly improving knowledge and adopting to the experience of her colleagues.

“We will mark the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence this year. We have seen some great and positive changes in a quarter of a century in our country,” said Yashkina.

“Take, for example, the city of Atyrau. Many residents remember the way it was in 1991 and look at it today. Back then all there was, was mud and dirt, and today? The streets are paved, lined with sidewalks. There are modern buildings, shopping centers. Positive changes have affected all Kazakhstanis. For example, we have stable wages and social benefits. There is a faith in the future.

Congratulations to all on the coming Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan!
