He was transferred to the CHP boiler as mechanic for repairs. As a qualified mechanical engineer he had experience in the regional gas plant and as a mechanic at the AtyrauGazMontazh. The team of the CHP was glad to have Murat, so he quickly fitted in. He was also lucky to have such mentors as locksmiths Vladimir Berdinskikh and Serik Tulekov who were generous with their valuable advice and guidance. Today, after 15 years of work at the plant, Murat is teaching young workers himself. One of his students - Ruslan Karyshev is improving his professional skills at the new Advanced Oil Refining Center (AORC) that is still under construction.

Now Murat Zhabagin is already a master of boiler equipment repair. “I make a defective statement of equipment that must be repaired, and then I hand it over to the contractors. And after the completion of the work, I accept the equipment,” Murat said about his work. “I take an active part in the repairs: I give suggestions for its qualitative implementation. We recently completed repairs at boiler No. 11 and the feed pump No. 4.”

He is not very talkative, but he possesses deep knowledge of his work. Murat is proud of his profession and has never regretted about the chosen specialty. His love to work was instilled in him from the early age. His father Sogyskhan Zhabagin dedicated his life to the rail industry, mom worked in a taxi service from which she retired. Labor, says Murat, not only improves, but also gives new strength, energy, and, of course, the future. It also means the material welfare of the family. Together with his wife Almagul they are bringing up two sons Ruslan and Rustam. One of them is studying at the Kazakh-Turkish lyceum, the other at the school No. 21.

“Our children are the future of Kazakhstan,” Murat said. “They were born in the independent Kazakhstan, and they must accomplish feats of labor in the name of growth of the native state. 

“Independence gave a lot to each citizen of Kazakhstan. We have new possibilities. Our well-being has improved. Everyone has the right to work for themselves, to develop business. We can give our children the best education in our universities and also abroad. The standard of living has been raised, and this must be admitted. And all this thanks to the economic policy pursued by the government, the work of each of us. Our refinery also has a great future. Look at the pace of modernization, and the latest technology that is being installed. We have a stimulus, something to aspire to.
