The seminar formed part of the fourth stage of a joint competitive analysis project for refinery operations in the 2024 operating year. Since 2013, PNHZ has been steadily improving energy efficiency through energy audits, energy efficiency programms and measures to reduce resource consumption.


Starting in 2018, PNHZ, ANPZ, and PKOP have collaborated with Solomon on Fuels Study 2024 and Performance Excellence Process (PEP) projects aimed at boosting operational efficiency. The seminar gathered 15 specialists from technical, production-economic, and labour norming departments across the three Kazakhstani refineries.
Participants acquired practical skills in applying Solomon’s research results to evaluate performance metrics, including:
• personnel componenta;
• operating costs;
• product yields;
• hydrocarbon losses;
• energy consumption;
• technological indicators.


Ivan Tomashevskii, Director of Business Development and Consulting for CIS and Turkey (PhD), led the seminar. He noted the high level of specialists engagement and their readiness for further cooperation. Participants provided positive feedback as well.
